Why I doodle | Confessions of a Fibre Artist
I wish someone could see how clueless I feel inside. I’ve tried hard to figure out a more constructive solution to life but Allah mian keeps me here despite all my efforts - my mindless doodles and working without a stepwise plan.
So let’s do this…
Life is all about love. We are social beings and our Master has done His best work by creating beautiful humans. Over years we learn how to love - it starts with our parents, siblings, family, teachers, friends, acquaintances.. it’s a long list and keeps changing as we transition through life.
We are all seeking love. As guardians we provide to our families just so we can show love. The family reciprocates the love by appreciating the efforts. And this is life! A give and take of love.
But I’ve also learnt that Allah mian takes us through life just so we can love ourselves. But self love is a tough one to execute because what does one do? What would/should a woman do?
Just today I was thinking how hard women try to be liked and loved. When they feel loved, most women unknowingly feel obliged be a slave to the person who loves them (a partner, parent, sibling, friend, offspring, teacher). After years of duty, she realizes that she never had time to herself. That realization brings a shift. The “boundary setting” stories after that need more doodling.
I concluded that we have this need to love unconditionally.

As i loved, I got hurt too, but this taught me have no expectations and build reliance on Allah. It was painful but soon the heart became peaceful. Next, my Creator gave me a special passport to love the Ahlebayt. This love becomes a bonus that feeds my need to love unconditionally.
When I audit my journey, I know I’ve survived. I measure my survival with the passing of time. Allah listened and gave me sabr. Today, I know that Allah mian didn’t make life hard but my choices make it tough. Creating art isn’t an easy choice either but it does bring an unexplainable calm in me and that’s what I want to share with everyone. No matter what anyone’s choice is, a little mindless downtime will always and only help.
