The beauty and richness of an ancestral textile heirlooms made me fall in love with fabric.
There are pieces we hang on too, they are memories but they don’t fit into the present because we have evolved. Our way of life and living keeps changing. It becomes evident when we look at these treasures that carry more of an emotional meaning than a monetary value. We hold onto them with immense care but as I laid them out; I learnt that at times just touching an old memory can trigger it to eventually fade away. There is a bigger lesson for me as a creator in this.
This has been one of the most comforting piece for me. This piece is named after Nargis, who gave me her precious heirloom pieces to devour the richness of fabric
