If I had my way, I would only and only wear Ghararas (which is a full length skirt or a flared pant for those who don’t know what it means). I also feel I’m a very old soul because I enjoy traditional things to the core. Gota fascinates me and I love seeing people pair dupattas of their mothers or grandmothers with something new.
I came across this heavy dupatta fabric and my heart longed to create something bigger than my usual canvas - but by hand. Without much thought, I began work. I baby stepped into making these as it takes me 2 months to complete a design because I don’t use read made banarsi bails. I cut up fabric to hand hem it like a border, just because I love details.
I wanted contemporary dupattas with a simple gharara to keep the dupatta in focus. My design came together in the middle of the night. As a small business owner, you are everything yourself. So I wore the outfit myself and mirror selfied the look!! And I LOvE it!!
The collection is a set of 5 designs. Shadeed Gulabi is dupatta 1 of 5 and is up on the website for purchase. Only one piece per design.

It’s a limited edition that will be available for purchase at amnanawab.com.
I believe in miracles.
The best is yet to come.
I’m almost ready to share my handmade dupattas with you all.
Love and lots of gota,
Amna Nawab
Length of dupatta: 2.75 yards
Hand hemmed, hand embellished, one of a kind.
I can attempt to create something similar on commission but cannot replicate the same dupatta. That’s the novelty and the essence beauty of hand made garments possess.
